Lizbeth Garcia
Hello! Hola!
Thank you for visiting my page.
My name is Lizbeth Garcia. I take pride in incorporating my culture into my everyday life. I teach with a culturally sensitive lens and strive to teach my students the importance of feeling proud of where they come from.
A little background information about me: I was born in Guerrero, Mexico and emigrated to the US when I was 8 years old. I graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and got my English BA at CSULA. I am a DACA teacher who creates safe space for students regardless of their ethnic background, immigration status, or gender identities.
This year I will begin a new journey as the ELD coordinator. I have personal connections with this program because I was an ELD student. I benefited from teachers taking the time to get to know me, have patience with me while I was learning, and show compassion and understanding. These are all the things I want our ELD program to showcase. I hope to have a great 2022-23 year!
